A special 10-year connection with Bunnings Petone
There was a special full-circle moment at our Petone Early Learning Centre recently, as the team from Bunnings Petone returned to the place where their very first community project began.
Ten years ago, the Bunnings team helped create a nature garden and pathway at the centre. As part of their store's 10-year celebrations, they reached out to see if there was another way they could support our tamariki and whānau.
On Tuesday 20 May, the team arrived ready to get stuck in. Together, they replanted our raised veggie beds and gave the fencing at the back of the centre a fresh coat of paint, helping to brighten and refresh an outdoor space enjoyed by tamariki every day.
The revitalised garden will provide even more opportunities for children to get involved in hands-on learning as they plant, nurture and watch things grow. It is also a wonderful example of what can happen when local businesses and community organisations come together to support tamariki.
